I spent around 3 hours at the allotment this afternoon, and carried on preparing the new bed, digging out as many perrenial weeds as I could and levelling things up around the edges. The herbs are in buckets split and awaiting replanting. I dug quite a lot of what I first took to be concrete before I realised it was frozen earth! Posted by Picasa

Thanks KT _ I will dig your artichokes asap - the ground was frozen all weekend & I would have damaged them trying to dig them out. Looks better now though so don't worry!

Mike, I was looking for garden plot pictures and found your great site! That lead me to many other great sites and now my own garden in development sharing blog. What a weekend! I'll be back to visit and enjoy watching your progress.
Thanks!

What a lovely neat allotment. I am planning to use my new blog to keep a record of the veg and herb gardening.

Keep up the hard work.

Thanks for your comment - I enjoyed a trip to your blog to have a look what you are up to. We had a black cat for many years until quite recently so the pictures brought back a lot of memories. I am looking forward to seeing how you get on with your veg this year!
All the best, Mike

Hi Emma! No I'm still here - haveben having trouble wih the laptop which I am in te process of sorting out. I tried to make a post yesterday but it switched itself off before I got a chance! Of course the other thing is that it has been wet up here for weeks now and there hasn't been much going on at the allotment anyway. It is pouring with rain again as I am typing this. However...I do have a backlog of things I want to post and have sorted out some space on my hard disc so I can download pictures onto the computer again - I will definately be posting today!!!
Thanks for getting in touch, Mike
