I'd love to grow an area of comfrey but I'm a bit strapped for space. Does it tend to spread and take over? or does it behave itself?
It is rather invasive and is virtually impossible to get out once it has established as the roots go down so far. Maybe grow some in an old water tank or a dustbin ot something like that? You can cut them several times a season for making liquid feed and they are very attractive as well.
Comfrey is all too easy to grow! Yesterday evening I was digging it out from among my garlic - even tho' I thought I'd managed to remove it all in the autumn. Still, it'll help the compost along.
Love your blog, Mike - I've just discovered it. And I agree about Ralph Vaughan Williams and guitar, tho on post-apocalytic things I'm a 'Survivors' person (1970's BBC, not the current franchised thingy!).
Thanks for your comment, Linda. I have been kind of meaning to update my profile as some of the things on it surprise me now when I see them, but RVW & Guitar are definately staying!
