Strawberry bed as was...

I spent seven hours at the lottie on Saturday and another three today. The main big job I did was dig out the old strawb bed - full of couch grass. I potted up some trawberries in the hope of having some fruit this year and have some more soaking ready to go in soon.

Hi Mike, I have an allotment in Ireland http/www.organicgardening.com We took over an overgrown plot last year, there were a lot of strawberry plants all over the place. We put them all into one bed this year. They are all sorts of varieties! I am going to grow on from the runners being produced of the best tasting and cropping ones. There was black weed covering on the bed but it seemed to be harbouring bindweed and couch grass,so I pulled it up.I did not know they needed feeding?! I did try different blogs for advice but could not find any but this morning (wet and windy in Ireland) I seem to have found the motherload! So I am going to bookmark everything!
