Little Potatoes

I cut holes for the remainder of the potatoes under the groundcover today. This one is a first early Red Duke of York with very pretty foliage (alright then haulm). I have still to plant the maincrop, maybe in the bed next door.

I've never seen potato plants with such beautiful foliage like that. Very nice!

Hi
I have not long had an allotment and wondered if you could tell me what the black cloth is you are using with the potatoes
Love your blog.

The black cloth is groundcover material. You can get it from garden centres but I get it from 'Instore' which used to be 'Poundstretcher' as it is cheaper there than anywhere else. It will only last one season though. I hold it down with stainless steel hoops and lay bits of wood between the plants to stop it blowing up and damaging them.
Hope this helps, Mike

Hi
Many thanks. I 'think' I have found it on eBay. Will also check out the pound shops
