Glorious Garlic

The garlic I planted in the Autumn seems to be flourishing under the chicken wire! Did you know that garlic is the only herb to effectively deter aphids and vampires?

Mike,Why do they live under the chicken wire?Do you need to protect your garlic from some garlic-loving pests???

Hi Kt - the idea was that the birds wouldn't pull up the young cloves before they had rooted properly.

Do you have a problem with vampires in your garden Mike?

Good to see you back again - I've missed you.

Hi Beryl - of course I don't have a problem with vampires. The garlic makes sure of that. It's actually more effective against vampires then aphids, actually.
All the best, Mike

Your garlic looks very healthy Mike. I must check on mine, I only planted it a couple of weeks ago so I don't expect it's done much yet.

I wish my garlic looked that good! Its frozen under a few inches of ice right now. And its too cold to go out and check on it anyway. I love looking at your garden pictures.
