I am fascinated by the black plastic. What is it there for?
The black plastic is to deter weeds - basically to keep the horsetail on the back foot for as long as possible. It can also help to retain moisture in the soil.
All the best, Mike
Gosh you are such a 'posh' gardener. A compliment young man. I am looking forward to spring. Any more pictures since the tulip bulbs.
Thanks for adding my link, and for your lovely and supportive comments. They are very much apprecated - especially on a wet housebound day today!
Just you wait until Thursday, it will be like Christmas for me. Then I will be impatient until the chooks come. Just off to phone a breeder about something.
My Japanese daughter in law logged onto my blog to day, and then linked to yours and was delighted to read KT's blog in Japanese. Thought you might like to know. She has a blog on a Japanese blogspot as she didn't realise that she could do one on ours.
She said that it was really interesting to read all about her allotment and what she grows.
Is this a record, I have not used a single exclamation mark.
It is a very small world isn't it! I never imagined anyone would be reading KT's blog in Japanese from my blog. You can right-click on the page and choose 'translate this page' for a rough and ready idea though. Luckily KT comments and replies in perfect English.
Roll on Thursday, Mike
PS: I am trying hard to take 'posh' as a compliment but it isn't easy!
Hi Mike and allotment lady(hope you'll be reading this, too)
Here's some people talking about me...I'm delight to hear that I've made such a connection through blogging!I suppose it's part of fun about writing a blog. Also I didn't realise that there was a Japanese version of blogspot.Funny, isn't it?!
>Luckily KT comments and replies in perfect English.
Well,I'm very flattered...(^^)
So lovely to know that someone who doesn't speak my language wants to read my blog by going through all this 'translate this page' trouble!!
