The Path of Shame

My new year's resolution has to include making sure the weeds don't take over this path again!
So what do you think - carpet, groundcover, flame-thrower, regular weeding, organic weedkiller, salt, duck tape, dry morter mix, re-lay paving over groundcover (please don't vote for this!). Or any other suggestions?

I suppose the best thing to do would be to resolve to post a picture of the path at the beginning of each month to give me the incentive to tidy it up!
