A Sunny Afternoon...

It was very pleasant yeterday afternoon down the lottie...

...the artichokes were flourishing in the mellow sunshine...

...I unexpectedly sarted digging the couch grass out of the 'old' strawberry bed...

...and did some other bits & pieces of tidying up. Not earth shattering progress but very satisfying none the less! (Oh and I paid Ivan the balance on the greenhouse!)

A lovely photo of your artichokes! I usually pick the flowers for an indoor arrangement this time of year. I think I have my artichokes under control, I love eating them but they are a real pest in the garden if you don't want them. Impossible to get rid of.

We're having a nice September, aren't we? After the grotty summer we had, I feel we deserve it.

Matron: I do't do much to my artichokes except chop them down every year! Do the flowers last in water? They are invasive but ine are in a place where it doesn't really matter.

Melanie: We had summer in April so it's good to have some nice weather now as well - I'm not really making the most of it down the lottie so let's hope we get a bit more!
